The airlock is designed as a cabin made of reinforced materials. It consists of two partitions that connect an exterior door and an interior door.
The airlock defines a security area that must be crossed to enter the building. The two doors are interlocked, ensuring a constant continuity of the security perimeter. Its installation at the building entrance provides excellent security by creating a visible and therefore deterrent obstacle.
All the information required for the airlock's operation is managed electronically using a PLC that receives various sensors (call, door status, etc.) as inputs and controls the various actuators (locks, indicator lights, etc.) as outputs.
The doors are locked using CORNI-type electric locks. In addition to standard operation, these locks also feature a Fire Safety application, allowing immediate opening in the event of an alarm. A control panel, linked to the airlock management system, allows for the selection of different operating modes based on requirements related to traffic fluctuations and varying security levels.
Persons pass through the airlock according to procedures that require a variety of controls with the aim of:
Dissuading potential attackers from committing an act;
Prohibiting access to the site to people who pose a risk;
Providing mechanical resistance to attackers who no longer conceal their intentions.
